RE: Career/Life Housekeeping

Greetings!

For the past 15 years I have worked at Kiers Marketing, a small marketing agency in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Starting there as a graphic designer, I worked my way up to the position of Creative Director. Recently circumstances came about where the Universe seemed to be saying it was time for me to do something different and I am no longer employed with Kiers.

I have no idea what that something different is – or how different it will be, but I will be spending the next while exploring all the options available at this point in life and doing my best to chose with thought and intention the next step on my path.

I am applying for positions in the design, marketing and associated fields, but I am also considering such diverse ideas as attending bike mechanic school and working at a shop, or going to trade school to study carpentry and then timber framing – a craft that has always interested me. As I recently told a friend, “pretty much anything is on the table and I’d love to talk to anyone at this point.”

One thing that I’ve always kept my eyes open for would be a position that allows me to use my design and marketing skills and experience within the bike industry or in some way related to bikes – but I haven’t quite found that unicorn yet.

I’m currently taking some online courses and in ‘data collection’ mode – however in the meantime, I will also be doing freelance design and marketing work so if you or someone you know are looking for marketing services, I’d love to chat. You can shoot me an email, view my Resume here, or on my LinkedIn profile, and check out some of my work on my Portfolio page. I have been working remotely on and off since the 90’s and working from home for 4 years since COVID, so don’t let matters of geography/proximity keep you from getting in touch – I’m Zoom friendly.

If you’re a business owner or part of a company or organization that would like to have an honest, informal conversation about your marketing – what you’re doing, what you could do differently or better, what your needs are, etc – I’d love to connect and share ideas – free of charge, please reach out and let’s set something up.

Finally, if you’re seeing this and we haven’t talked in awhile – or perhaps ever, in person – feel free to reach out and let’s connect over a coffee and a chat – virtual or in person – I’ve got a bit of time these days. Always willing to drink coffee and talk about bikes too.

You can also get a hold of me through any of my social media channels – I’m on Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and Threads – or shoot me an email.

I look forward to hearing from you! Exciting times to be sure!

-Kent
