From time to time I miss the old school tactile feel of drawing and drafting. I still do some of it for various projects around the house but much of the time it’s more just freehand sketch type stuff in notebooks for smaller projects. Dimensional drawings to get cut and materials lists and the like.
Some projects work better actually drafted in the old school sense – and it’s also more interesting for exploring different options, when you can sketch over top of a base drawing.
Set myself up a small, movable desk in the Winter Clubhouse to sit on top of my flat file for noodling about. Used found/recyled lumber and an old hockey stick for good measure. Channeled my inner Frank Lloyd Wright and even cantilevered it a bit for legroom. Will have to invest in a new T-Square, mine got lost somewhere I think.
