Well, as some of you may or may not know, the ride was cancelled this morning as were all activities pertaining to the Tour of Hope due to some major problems with flooding in areas of DC and along the ride route (it’s been raining non-stop and fairly hard here for the past 2 days). As far as I know, it will not be rescheduled.
For those wondering, we did get out this morning, onto the shuttle buses and right up to the start point before it was cancelled.
Eye on the prize, though. As the woman mentioned who came on the bus to tell us the ride was off, “Hey, you guys did help raise over 1.5 million dollars for cancer research this year!” So that’s pretty awesome.
I was pretty bummed and very amped up to get on the bike, so I just rode home from DC.
Muchas Gracias to my main man Francisco for picking me up at 3 this morning, driving me down, and hanging out for a spell.
